We have had various individuals from Overseas asking if the IGBA is accepting exhibits from the EU into this year’s members show?
The simple but blunt answer is “Not this year”.
The committee know that this will be a big disappointment to all exhibiting members, UK and overseas, who have not met together in friendly competition since 2019.
That decision has been reluctantly but realistically taken as we have no means of policing movements from overseas as required by UK regulations .
UK regulations restricting bird movements into the country since our leaving the EU, although closer to being resolved are still in place e.g., pre-export testing, health certification documentation, travel identification, proof of export from an avian flu free area and of course quarantine.
This being the case the IGBA ask all overseas exhibitors to remain patient in trying to exhibit at the World’s Premier All Gloster show and advise that our overseas secretary, Richard Lumley, through his connection with IOA and other groups are lobbying Government and sitting on committees to influence an easing and hopeful restoration of bird movements into and out of the UK as existed prior to Brexit.
The one thing no one knows is when movement restrictions will be eased so your committee is exploring if and how the IGBA can assist in providing members IGBA competition overseas.
Anyone wishing to attend the event on the 15th & 16th October 2022 – Venue: North Warwickshire & South Leicester College, Hinkley Road, Nuneaton, Warwickshire CV11 6BH, without exhibits, please make the journey you will as usual be most warmly welcomed.
