The 37th Yorkshire Gloster Canary Club show was held in the Village Hall at North Stainley, a picturesque village near Ripon.

The 206 exhibits were judged by Mr T Goddard and Mr D Rands, who chose a novice exhibit as Best in Show. This was an outstanding TPD Consort owned by Mitch Cowen. which also won Best Novice. Best Opposite Head was benched by Richard Lambert’s Buff Corona which was also Best Champion. Ruby Lambert won Best Junior.

A variety of exhibitors won the coloured classes:
Best Champion Buff, Best Champion Grizzle – R. Lambert; Best Champion TPD – Nicol and Short; Best Champion White – M Moore; Best Champion Yellow – A Hooley and Best Champion Cinnamon – Anderson & Roome.

Mitch Cowen Took the honours for Best Novice Buff ,Best Novice TPD, and Best Novice White with Malcolm Lowe winning Best Novice Yellow and Best Novice Cinnamon.

Although our show was quite small, the standard of exhibits benched was especially impressive. It has a friendly atmosphere which exhibitors enjoy. All members contribute to make the day an enjoyable event including refreshments served by Charley Roome, M Roome and A Short.

The 2026 show will take place on Sunday 25th October and will be judged by A Short and K Stoakes. We hope to see many old faces and hopefully some new ones. Everyone is welcome.
