But first I tell you something about what happened before we could arrive at that result.

On Thursday, November 10th, Jean-Pierre Davignon and I left Belgium in the afternoon to arrive in Malta about 20h45, where we got a warm welcome by some members of the committee.

They accompanied us to the beautiful Dolmen Hotel.

On Friday we were free to do what we want, so we took the Hop on Hop off bus to visit the northern part of the Island, which we found very beautiful.

In the evening we got the opportunity to socialize with some guys of the committee.

Saturday was Judging Day. When we arrived at the show hall, first we had the pleasure to meet the stewards and all the Organisation people. Then we went around in the show hall to see if all birds were right classified. By the time of 9 o’clock, we started judging the classes… that kept us going till 14 o’clock.

Of course, in the meantime we had a little break to have something to eat.

Then we went over to choose the specials.

We have to say that all was very good organised and the administration went perfect. Mark Cilia even made a special catalogue to help the judges during the selection of the specials/best awards.

Finally, we arrived at the selection of the Best in Show: a variegated corona hen (which belongs to Darren Scerri) and Best opposite head: a blue Consort Hen (which belongs to Frank Formosa).

Other winners were: Matthew, Raymond Borg (champion specials) and Edmond Xuereb, Rupert Schembri (novice specials). And don’t forget: Darren Scerri won 20 classes!

Congratulations to All !!!

On Saturday night we could enjoy a pleasant evening with nice dinner in the company of the Organisation team and fanciers. We arrived at the hotel at about midnight, and soon realised that a taxi would pick us up at 3h30 to take us to the airport. We had a wonderful time in Malta, with a warm welcome, judging a good show with more than 500 birds of very good quality, and very friendly people of Malta.
