Well time flies and we start the search for the 2023 British Champion of Champions and Champion of Novices without Glosters at Stafford and Kent AG kicking off the UK Gloster show season on the 7th October closely followed 24 hours later with The Northern, Yorks Gloster and Fife and the Scottish National all on the same day.
2023 Kent AG saw the champion partnership of Skeffington & Gill absent from the event but with overall number remaining high at 442 [ Champion 366 Novice 76 ] with Rose and McCarthy benching the largest team of 71 birds and leading the score board amassing 133 points.
In the final analysis new names appeared at the head of competition, with Mr & Mrs Phil Dawtrey topping the list with a U/F TPD Corona Cock deservedly taking Best Gloster and the Best Opposite Head going to Bob Mortimer with a U/F TPD Consort Cock.
Novices were well represented by A Hutton, M Fitter, K Wilkins, M Buckland and M Cowan. In the final analysis of the 14 awards, 10 were taken by Mitch Cowen, including Best Novice Gloster and Best Novice opposite head.
Matt Fitter walked away with Best Novice Flt Consort and Best Novice Buff Corona, Albert Hutton Best Novice Yellow and Mick Buckland Best Novice Grizzle.
