Following several enquiries from our members in particular from overseas, it was becoming more apparent that the show cage paint colour was difficult to obtain and reproduce.

Consequently, a proposal was made to the GFCC UK by Keith Baker to adopt a colour standard that could be recognised and reproduce worldwide.

The proposal was not to change the colour but find a recognised standard that matched the existing. It was proposed that a colour from the Pantone Colour Matching System range was adopted. Pantone colours can also be matched and reproduced by using the CMYK colour model.

At the latest GFCC UK meeting held on 30th April 2023, the proposal was accepted and Pantone 344C was chosen as the closest match to the existing show cage colour.

Following the meeting Mario Zaha GFCC Overseas Secretary has moved things forward and matched the Pantone 344C swatch to a Dulux colour (Granada Green 3) this can be mixed at Dulux MixLab units found in DIY stores throughout the UK and the rest of the world.
