52 exhibitors from Italy and Malta gathered on the weekend of 8th– 9th October in Pedara, Sicilly for the 6th European Gloster Show. A total of 756 quality Glosters were on show for judges Ludo Lenaers, Claudio Baglioni and Keith Baker to adjudicate.
It was pleasing that the vast majority of the birds on show displayed good type and were to the diminutive. The three judges were unanimous in selecting a Blue Corona Hen benched by Vincenzo Scardina as best in show. Vincenzo had an excellent day also winning Best opposite sex Corona and Consort.
Best Consort in show was another small, neat, good-feathered Buff Variegated Hen picked from the Stamm team belonging to Tommaso Angrisani.
In only his second year as a Novice, Franklin Formosa from Malta had excellent results in his first visit to the European Gloster Show. Frank’s excellent team of birds won all the Novice special awards at the show. His Blue Consort hen winning Best Novice, Frank also won Best Corona, Best Cinnamon, and Best Yellow in the Novice section.

It was a great weekend and with many fanciers joining in socially for superb food in the evenings.
Especially on the Saturday when we were treated to a vast array of fish dishes at the renowned seafood restaurant I Ruderi Panoramico.
