IGBA Presentations – update

IGBA Presentations – update

We held our first zoom talk on the 23rd of June hosted by Keith Baker, Subject “Problems relating to the Breeding Season. Thanks to Keith for kicking off our first new initiative and paving the way for a series of monthly presentations.

For all the presentations we have had a mixture of breeders from experience to beginners from the uk and overseas.

It was good to have that first get together as we had not been able to successfully interact over the previous 18 months. The presentations and subsequent discussion at the end with concentration on “all things birdy” enables the attendees to take things away to help improving their breeding.

Having paved the way, on the first presentation it fell to Keith, as Chairman, to introduce the renowned and respected Breeder, Exhibitor, COM Judge Mr Ian Wright to provide the second presentation “An insight into weaning birds and getting them in top condition to grace the show bench”.

Both presentations had healthy registrations and some excellent feedback from attendees, both novice newcomers and hardened experienced individuals.

The presentations are gathering momentum of that there is no doubt. At the beginning of the project, it was hoped that the initiative would be accepted by the members as a positive move to add something different to the offering of the IGBA, and so far this hope has not been misplaced with increased registration for each event.

Future events starting this Sunday 26th September sees Joel Couto presenting at 20:00 (uk time) subject :Meeting Judges Expectations

Followed on Friday 22nd of October by Colin Leask – “Bird Health and Stress” 19:30 start

and closing the year on Friday 19th of November will be Norman Wallace with “The Place of Yellows in a Gloster Bird Room 19:30 start

Adrian has already got the start of 2022 lined up BUT If any member would like to do a talk or know someone that would like to do one send him an email and help make sure we have a full 12 month program for 2022.

We can take more attendees ,so here is a challenge to the Experience members – register for these events email adypool@ outlook.com with your name and IGBA ring code and help pass on your 5 pennyworth of knowledge to the newcomers and novices and the experienced. Even the obvious small things we take for granted others may not ,and that little bit of knowledge can make a difference.
