The beginning of a series of monthly Zoom presentations went ahead on the 23rd June; with Keith Baker, Chairman International Judge and Champion Breeder of 50+ years, delivering a talk on the Breeding Season and some of the problems experienced during that period.
The magnitude of the subject meant that Keith had to condensed the content into a manageable time for the attendees from the UK, Malta and Greece. Attendees ranged from breeders returning to keeping Glosters after years of absence, novices and those at the very pinnacle of breeding and exhibiting experience.
Subject matter went through the breeding cycle from initial pairing selection, preping the nest, feed, egg laying, fertility, hatching, ringing, fledging, weaning; and problems areas that can be experienced.
After Keith’s delivery questions were posed answers given, some sage advice provided by the experienced attendees, with the continental attendees providing an insight into their processes and problems, all very similar to those experienced by UK personnel with the added complication of dealing with high temperatures.
All in all the 2 hours provided everyone with something to take away from the event.
Thanks must go to Keith for presenting, attendees especially our continental friends for participating and to those that were unable to attend remember there is always the next time.
Remember the IGBA is now in a position to be able to engage with you the member to give you something additional for your subscription, it just needs you to actively participate.
